Families for Change NYC
let's go forward

We believe:

All kids matter and should receive the support they need to thrive in school.  It shouldn't have to be said, but when we say ALL - that includes kids who are trans, LGBTQIA+, have IEPs, or are learning English for the first time, among others. Every kid should feel safe at school.

We also believe all kids can and should be challenged to excel in school. This isn't a zero sum game. Join us!

Come Vote With Us
April 25 - May 13

As parents of NYC public school students, we want to ensure that families are fully informed about their choices in the upcoming CEC elections.

We are focused on District 2, where the majority of the CEC board has demonstrated that it is more interested in associating with far right groups than listening to parents and students. But we will have recommendations for the other CECs as well. Let's get back to making things better.

Lets go!

Each family needs a NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) to vote in the upcoming Community Education Council ("CEC") election. For every student, you get three votes.

Come back on April 25th to see our candidate recommendations!

Families vote in the district where their student goes to school. You don't have to be registered voter or citizen.

Confirm your NYC Schools account is ready to go.

If you don't have an account, email the parent coordinator at your school to ask for an account set up code and the OSIS number for your student(s) and get set up!

The DOE's set up guide is here.

Get Educated

We aren't kidding when we say the current D2 CEC majority is far right aligned.

Their voting record speaks for itself.

They refused to disavow association with Mom's for Liberty, a far right hate group

They voted to "question" the right of trans girls to participate in sports - which we all know is the first step toward broader attacks. The DOE disowned this resolution but the D2 majority continues to stand behind it.

Come see what all the fuss is about - join us at a D2 CEC meeting!

The next one is April 23rd at Lab Middle School - 333 W 17th Street at 6pm.

Listen to what the candidates have to say, but just like the national news, do your research before you believe everything they say.
